Snuggle Season? Nah, It’s Lock-In Season.

Fall is coming, it’s about to get chilly outside, and you already know what comes with that: snuggle season.

But here’s my Tuesday advice.

If you barely saw that man, woman, or whoever you were entertaining all summer, do not let them suddenly become your main source of entertainment because it got cold outside.

If he wanted to be a hot boy all summer, let that man be a hot boy all winter too.

Seriously.

This season, I want us to stop allowing temporary attention to distract us from permanent progress.

If you played around all summer, okay. Summer is over. You still have time to turn this year around. And if you’ve already been putting in the work, this is not the time to fall off. This is the time to go harder.

Fall and winter are perfect for locking in.

Get in the gym. Work out at home. Get your eating together. Work on your business. Save your money.

Take care of your skin. Get your sleep together. Protect your peace. Read. Learn something. Handle the things you keep saying you’re going to handle.

Whatever choosing yourself looks like for you, do more of it.

And to my moms, this includes you too.

We spend so much time making sure everybody else is good that sometimes we look up and realize we haven’t made any time for ourselves. You have to plan for the life you want, including the time you want for yourself.

Maybe that means waking up a little earlier before the kids get up and giving yourself 20 or 30 minutes. Get a quick workout in. Do your skincare. Drink your coffee in peace. Stretch. Journal. Sit in silence if that’s what you need.

If your kids are in school, use some of that time when you can. Go to the gym. Take your walk. Handle something you’ve been putting off. Work on your goals. Or simply give yourself some real me time without feeling guilty about it.

It doesn’t have to be hours. Start with the time you have and be intentional with it.

Because the truth is, nobody is coming to save you.

Nobody is going to magically create the time for you to become the woman you want to be. Sometimes you have to look at your schedule and decide, this is where I fit myself back into my own life.

If you’ve been doing 8 reps, work toward 12.

If you’ve been working out 3 days a week and your body and schedule can handle another day, add one.

If you’ve been giving your goals 50%, ask yourself what 75% looks like.

Because whether you’re ready or not, life is still moving.

Five years from now is coming whether you work toward the life you want or not. And while it is never too late to start, imagine how much further you could be if you stopped waiting for the “perfect time.”

To every woman who has been choosing herself lately, keep going.

The choices really do get easier the more you make them. Eventually, choosing yourself stops feeling like something you have to force yourself to do. It becomes second nature.

You wake up and move differently because you know what you want.

So yes, enjoy the cozy weather. Get your blankets. Light your candles. Drink your little fall drinks.

But we are not hibernating from our goals.

We’re hibernating with them.

Let’s have a good fall and an even better winter. Let’s put so much work into ourselves during these colder months that by next summer, we barely recognize the women we used to be.

They’re not stopping us. And we’re not stopping ourselves either.

Where women choose themselves.
